Outdoor Burning

In Texas, outdoor burning is prohibited in municipalities, unless a City adopts an ordinance allowing for such burning which is consistent with the Texas Clean Air Act.  To provide citizens with an alternative method for brush disposal, the City Council has adopted such an Ordinance.  Before outdoor burning is conducted, a permit must be secured from the City of Glen Rose and reviewed and approved by the Somervell County Fire Marshal.  Once a permit has been secured, on the day a burn is to be conducted, Somervell County Dispatch must be contacted at (254) 897-2242 and notified about the burn.
